Whole 30: Day 10 – The Importance of Mentors in Following Your Dreams
Accepting advice and correction isn’t always easy, but it’s always needed. There are many times that I’m eager for feedback and advice, but there are some situations where the very thought of constructive criticism scares senseless. Yet, in order to grow in any area and in any task, we must learn from those around us, especially those who have been involved in that particular area longer than we have. Mentorship and coaching is essential to advancement but we all must be humble enough to see that and humble enough to welcome it.
Just as in any area of life, there is always something to learn in the area of health. Whether it’s when we should eat certain foods, how to maintain better form when working out, or even how to handle stress better, there is always something to learn.
I’ll admit to you right now that I don’t know everything. I’m no expert when it comes to holistic health, Whole 30, Crossfit, Paleo, or any of that. But I have a heart to learn, know more, and share it with others. I have been blessed with some amazing friends and coaches who have been involved in the health and fitness field longer than I have, and from whom I receive a lot of guidance, advice, and wisdom from. Most of these mentors and I spend a lot of time together and they care greatly not only about my health, but those who they lead as well. I’m so grateful for them and their leadership in my life. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t even be writing this blog now, or pursuing my health coaching dreams.
Tomy Wilkerson, Matthew Barnett, Tarasa Barnett, Sarah Robbins, Lucas Robbins, Norma Ebanks and my twin Nicole Crance (to name a few)- thank you all with all my heart. You’re leadership and friendship in the area of holistic health has forever transformed me, and I pray you’re leadership will continue to transform and redeem the lives of many others as well.
So here’s to you, may God bless you and continue to shine His love and favor on you always. Love you all!
